DIN 808 universal joints with friction bearings are known for their precision. They have minimal play and are long lasting. The permissible RPM of these joints is largely dependent on the type of application, including load, duration, inclination angle and lubrication. For RPM over 1000, universal joints with needle bearing should be used. For continuous use ample lubrication is essential. This can be achieved by fitting the joint with a grease filled GN 808.1 cover boot.
